CJ was born and raised in Nanuet NY which is 20 miles north of Manhattan. He went to Nanuet High School where he played 3 sports, soccer, basketball and golf. He received 10 varsity letters in his high school career. He received accolades in golf such as all league and all conference throughout my career. He also played the trumpet in high school and in college. He was in the jazz band, concert band and mixed orchestra in high school receiving awards such as all county 3 years in a row. He then went on to St. Thomas Aquinas College(NCAA Div. II) where he played golf for two years. After that, he transferred to St. John's University in Jamaica Queens, where he also played in their jazz band. He graduated with a B.S. in communications (T.V., film, journalism, photography, and production). CJ then got a job in advertising sales for t.v. in Manhattan. After realizing it wasn't for me, he went back to school to earn a certificate in Turfgrass Management from Rutgers University. He is currently studying to receive my masters degree in education from Manhattanville College in Purchase NY.   He was drawn to the field of education by some of the teachers that he had in high school. He wanted to help guide students in their journey just like his teachers guided him. His favorite thing about CLIHS is seeing the students work with the newcomers who have just arrived from their respective countries. It is a tremendous transition to come to an American high school and our students do a great job of accepting new students with open arms.
